How is SAFE funded??

Recognizing the importance and value of fire prevention and education, Scituates S.A.F.E program has been mainly funded through the budget of the Scituate Fire Department.  A portion of the S.A.F.E program is funded by a grant program administered b the massachusetts Department of Fire Services.  Due to the tremendous risk of injury and death in fires started by the careless disposal of smoking materials.  The legislature appropriated funding from monies raised through the cigarette sales tax for fiscal years 1996 2002/
